Quantitative imaging is a convergence of medical imaging, computer science, multi-omics and the clinical sciences. It is focused on the extraction of image features which can be used as actionable biomarkers regarding disease and normal pathology.

Improvements in imaging technology and quantitative harmonisation, computational methods such as machine learning, and the increased availability of high performance computing infrastructure, are leading to a revolution in the way medical imaging is used in precision medicine.

The development of quantitative imaging expertise and capability is aligned with WA Health initiatives in digital health and the implementation of precision medicine techniques, and it will enable opportunities for innovation and commercialisation.

This workshop will showcase existing research in this field in Western Australia, provide some insights from researchers who have worked in this field internationally and help to identify a pathway to enabling broader access to these techniques in WA in a way which integrates with developments in local health strategy and innovation.

The day will follow the brief schedule below. Refreshments and lunch will be provided:

9:45 – 10:00 Welcome and introduction
